Lyndon is uniquely placed to offer a positive, caring and exciting secondary education for young people within our community.
We are a Trust school that is very different to other schools because Lyndon enjoys the direct influence and close working relationship with a number of key Trust Partners. Many of these organisations offer extensive curriculum opportunities, professional mentoring for students and career pathways to ensure our students are lifelong learners.
We want your child to be confident as they begin secondary school, and our experienced and dedicated team help this happen.
Our comprehensive transition and transfer programme includes shadowing and induction days, plus visits from the Year 7 team to every child in their Primary school.
The start in September is carefully planned to ensure that the first few weeks hold no worries, with all queries dealt with prior to starting and an ongoing, supportive pastoral care system.
At Lyndon we want every child to be successful and offer a broad, balanced curriculum to maximise opportunities. We want all our students to be fully equipped for a successful transition into higher education or employment.
Prefects play an important role in school life, setting a benchmark for standards and behaviour.
After School – Lyndon offers a wide range of opportunities for students after the school day has ended. Clubs range from the academic to sporty, artistic to dramatic, musical to quiet; literally something for everybody.
Trips and visits are an important part of school life and at Lyndon it is no different, we offer a wide range of visits to local, national and international venues.
In addition to the excellent opportunities for our students provided by our Trust Partners, Lyndon is proud to contribute in many ways to our local community. We maintain strong links with local Primary and Infant schools, providing workshops and visits for their students, and mentoring/leadership opportunities for our students.
Links with local businesses and services mean that we can keep up to date with local issues, informing our students of opportunities and encouraging them to get involved. As an example, we have two students who attend the Solihull Youth Council and have input into the provision of services for young people in the Borough.
Charity fund-raising is a feature of Lyndon life, and we are delighted to have been able to support several charities each year. Currently we are supporting eleven Kenyan students through their entire school education following some excellent fund-raising by students in Year 7.
“Thank you for inviting us to your workshop! I really enjoyed your swords, spears, knives and archery! I really hope I can come back and have another go.” – Year 3 Gilbertstone Primary student after attending a workshop at Lyndon.
We hope you enjoy visiting our website; we will continue to develop it and would appreciate your comments and suggestions. The site offers you a glimpse of life at Lyndon but cannot replace visiting us in person. We will welcome you at any time, just contact us for an appointment, or join our open days and evenings in September.
