Cockshut Hill School and UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award
Congratulations to Cockshut Hill School on being accredited as a UNICEF Level 1 Rights Respecting School. Cockshut Hill is the first of our seven schools to achieve the Level 1 accreditation.
Cockshut Hill have underpinned their vision for improvement around the award and strategically planned their practices around elements involved.
On Thursday 18th May, the school welcomed two inspectors to assess its progress as a Rights Respecting School.
After a meeting with senior staff, who outlined the whole school approach to embedding its rights respecting ethos, the inspectors went on to meet with the student group responsible for driving the work towards the award in school. The group spoke about why they felt the award was important to them and the impact they felt it had had in school. The students took the inspectors on a tour of the school, where they presented the way the school keeps children’s rights on a high profile over the site.
A further meeting with a variety of students from across the school followed and then they met with staff from all areas of the school to discuss the impacts of working towards the award.
Congratulations Cockshut Hill School on achieving the accreditation. We look forward to helping you on your journey to achieving Level 2.
